AI visibility monitoring for Washington DC businesses
When people in DC, Maryland and Northern Virginia ask ChatGPT, Claude or Perplexity who to hire or where to buy, the answer names a handful of businesses. Envoyra is based in Washington DC. Every week we ask those assistants the questions your customers ask, and show you whether your business is one of the names.
What local AI answers look like
In September 2026 we asked Google AI Mode 21 questions a DC business owner might ask when looking for help with AI search, and repeated three of them in ChatGPT. Three patterns held across the answers:
- The same few businesses were named again and again. Most businesses in the category were never named at all.
- The businesses named most often had a Google Business Profile with reviews.
- Answers repeated names from local "best of DC" roundup articles, and cited those articles as sources.
None of this shows up in a search ranking report. The only way to know whether AI names your business is to ask it, the way your customers do, and count.

Questions
What is AI visibility monitoring?
AI visibility monitoring means asking AI assistants the questions your customers ask, on a regular schedule, and recording whether your business is named in the answers. Envoyra reports it as a count: how many answers named your business, out of how many we collected, plus which businesses were named instead and which sources the answers cited.
Does Envoyra work for businesses in Maryland and Northern Virginia, not just DC?
Yes. Envoyra is based in Washington DC and works with businesses across the DMV, including Montgomery and Prince George's counties in Maryland and Arlington, Alexandria and Fairfax in Virginia. The buyer questions can name your neighborhood or city, so the answers we record reflect the area you actually serve.
Which AI assistants does Envoyra check?
The AI Recommendation Monitor asks ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini and Perplexity every week. The free scan asks Perplexity. Each assistant can answer the same question differently, so results are shown assistant by assistant.
How much does it cost?
The free scan costs nothing and needs no email to see the result. The AI Presence Audit is $49.99 one time. The AI Recommendation Monitor is $99 per month, with a scan every week, 25 buyer questions for each topic you track, and up to 3 topics.
Will Envoyra get my business recommended by AI?
No, and no one can promise that. Envoyra measures what AI assistants say about your business and shows what changes week to week. It does not write content, run campaigns or guarantee placement. You and your team decide what to do with the results.
Why do some DC businesses get named by AI and others do not?
Envoyra records what AI actually said and does not claim to know how any AI model works inside. In our September 2026 test of 21 DC questions, the businesses that were named most often tended to have a Google Business Profile with reviews and appeared in local roundup articles that the answers cited. Monitoring shows whether the same holds for your category.
